| Tasting Notes: | Our 2009 Pinot Noir shows a smoky and spicy nose with fresh strawberries, rhubarb, rose petals, cloves and molasses. The palate includes hints of earth and mushrooms leading to a velvety texture on the finish. |
| Production Notes: | 2009 had a fairly wet winter with average rain fall. Little rain from May to September, together with cool temperatures throughout the summer, led to moderate vine vigor and average fruit yields. e late heat spikes from mid-August to late September allowed for an extended hang time and the development of concentrated flavors. |

Founded in 1972, Firestone was the first major estate winery established in the Santa Ynez Valley. Our 400 acres of historic vineyards lie 34 miles from the cold Pacific Ocean creating a moderate, arid climate and extremely long growing season. In recent years we have developed proprietary viticulture protocols that take full advantage of the complex soils and many exposures on our estate. Our unique growing conditions and intense farming techniques yield wines that are concentrated, elegant and firmly structured.
