Firestone Reserve wines are crafted from only the finest vintages, when select blocks of estate fruit mature to the highest caliber. In such vintages, these blocks are separately harvested, crafted in small lots and aged in the finest French oak cooperage.

2003 The Ambassador – Santa Ynez Valley

The Ambassador represents the finest expression of our estate vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. It is a classic Bordeaux-style blend that incorporates our most prized estate blocks, chosen for their potential to yield a wine of extraordinary depth, complexity and character. This wine is named in honor of Ambassador Leonard Firestone, who planted our first vineyard in 1972. Only vintages of superior quality are deemed worthy of The Ambassador designation.

2004 Vintage Reserve – Santa Ynez Valley

Our Vintage Reserve is a Bordeaux-style wine of exemplary quality crafted from superior vintages. Only 14 vintages have merited our Vintage Reserve designation since the inaugural vintage of 1977. The 2004 Vintage Reserve is an artful blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. It begins with enchanting aromas of plum, black cherry, oak toast and dark coffee bean. The palate is smooth and elegant, with layers of cassis, plum, mint and licorice. Firm tannins glide seamlessly into a long, rich finish.

2003 Merlot Reserve – Santa Ynez Valley

Our 2003 Merlot Reserve is composed of fruit from selected blocks on the Carranza Mesa and Figueroa Terrace areas of our estate. These lots were selected for Reserve production by Winemaker Kevin Willenborg, and were held for extended aging in French oak barrels to capture the finest expression of the vintage. The 2003 vintage offers intense aromas of plum, chocolate and caramel spice. The plum impression continues on the palate, along with flavors of black cherry, dark coffee and mocha. Accents of toasty oak emerge on a deep, integrated finish. The texture is firm and structured, ensuring that this wine will age gracefully for several years.

2003 Cabernet Franc Reserve – Santa Ynez Valley

Our 2003 Cabernet Franc Reserve hails from Adam and Kate Firestone’s Rock Hollow Vineyard, an ideal site for growing complex, intensely flavored wines. The 2003 vintage offers vivid aromas of black currant and mocha with accents of eucalyptus and white pepper. Round, supple flavors of cassis and black cherry unfold along a broad texture. Firm tannins on the finish will reward careful cellaring as they soften up over the next few years.

2006 Sauvignon Blanc Reserve – Santa Ynez Valley

Our Sauvignon Blanc Reserve showcases the Santa Ynez Valley as one of the world’s premier appellations for the varietal. The 2006 vintage hails from our estate vineyards and offers bright aromas of passion fruit, guava and nectarine. A medium-weight palate unfolds with rich, quenching flavors of white peach, kiwi, mineral and lemon zest. Brisk acidity caries a long, refreshing finish.

2006 Chardonnay Reserve – Sta. Rita Hills

Our 2006 Chardonnay Reserve hails from Rancho Santa Rosa Vineyard in Santa Rita Hills, where cool marine air nurtures the Chardonnay grape to perfect maturity. It offers concentrated aromas of apple, mango and butterscotch with enticing mineral accents. Flavors of pear, caramel and citrus unfold across a deep, seamless texture. The finish is fresh and elegant, with lingering fruit and crisp acidity.

2005 Late Harvest Riesling – Santa Ynez Valley

Only extraordinary vintages bless us with enough botrytis to make Late Harvest Riesling at our estate in the Santa Ynez Valley. This famed “noble rot” emerges late in the harvest season, intensifying fruit flavor and sugar for the crafting of a luscious, nectar-like wine. The 2005 vintage begins with enchanting aromas of honey, orange blossom and dried apricot. A luxurious texture unfolds with flavors of peach, apricot, mango and citrus.
