Little rain from May to September, together with cool temperatures throughout the summer, led to moderate vine vigor and average fruit yields. e late heat spikes from mid-August to late September allowed for an extended hang time and the development of concentrated flavors. |
| Winemaker Notes: | Our 2009 Malbec is a great example of the vintage and our site in the Santa Ynez Valley. e moderate temperatures and lack of rainfall coupled with our low-vigor soils and well-exposed terrain created a wine that is ripe, elegant and quite complex. It is full of flavors and aromas of black cherry,
blueberries, and vanilla. On the palate you will also notice cola and spice tones with soft tannins that give way to a long, lingering finish. |
