Located in California’s central coast region of Santa Barbara County, the Sta. Rita Hills AVA offers an ideal environment for growing cool-climate varietals. Foggy conditions and steady Pacific breezes combined with nutrient-poor soil make the AVA one of the world’s premier Chardonnay and Pinot Noir producing regions. Wines from this area are renown for their intense flavors, firm structure and ability to pair with a wide variety of cuisine.
The 2012 growing season was more by-the-book than we have experienced in recent years. A mild winter with modest rainfall was followed by a warm, sunny California summer. The weather afforded our vines the opportunity to grow without the stress of an extreme environment. The end result is a line up of some of the most varietally sound, delectable wines we have ever produced.
