Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Sauvignon Blanc excels at our estate in the Santa Ynez Valley, where growing conditions are optimal for showcasing the varietal’s bright, expressive character. The 2006 vintage offers lively aromas of pear, honeysuckle, hay and citrus. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with mineral flavors of kiwi, passion fruit and lemongrass that conclude with a quenching finish.

Winemaking
Our 2006 Sauvignon Blanc hails from the Firestone Vineyard estate with contributions from select neighboring vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. Winemaking emphasis was placed on preserving the varietal’s bright fruit flavors and vivid acid profile in the pursuit of a crisp, expressive style of Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes were harvested in the cool morning hours, with individual blocks picked over a span of three weeks from late September through early October. Inert gas was employed as a buffer to prevent oxidation from destemming through crushing. The wine was cold fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks for the retention of delicate aromatics and varietal authenticity.
Cuisine Pairing
The crisp, lively flavors of our 2006 Sauvignon Blanc offer remarkable versatility with cuisine. Recommendations include sautéed sandabs, shellfish, chicken and lemon risotto, Caesar salad, and milder Mexican fare with cilantro and lime.
