Tasting Notes

Our 2006 Riesling offers delicate aromas of pear, honesuckle and lemon zest. The texture is fresh and clean, with graceful flavors of apricot, honey, melon and nutty spice. Natural sweetness is harnessed by brisk acidity for a refreshingly balanced off-dry finish. 

Winegrowing Notes
Our 2006 Riesling merges fruit from two premium appellations to achieve a wine of dimension and complexity. Riesling from our estate vineyards in Santa Barbara County’s Santa Ynez Valley imparts ripe, classic varietal flavors and textural richness, while a balance of fruit from cooler Monterey County ensures crisp acidity and appealing citrus accents.

Winemaking Notes
The grapes were picked in the cool morning hours to maintain fruit integrity. After pressing and settling, the wine was cold fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve its delicate aromatics and textural crispness. The off-dry style was achieved by halting fermentation prior to full dryness.

Cuisine Pairing
The fresh off-dry flavors and exquisite balance of the 2006 Riesling ensure considerable versatility with food. Recommended pairings include sweet and spicy Asian fare, roast pork loin with apricots, barbecued chicken, and classic Mexican fare such as pork fajitas with peach salsa.
