Tasting Notes
The 2023 Reserve Chardonnay opens with aromas of ripe pineapple and roasted vanilla bean. On the palate, it has balanced acidity, rich in notes of crème brûlée, toasted graham and caramelized brown sugar with accents of pair and golden apple. The finish is long and smooth. This wine pairs beautifully with Thanksgiving turkey and fixings.

The grapes for this wine come from 9 acres on our estate in Santa Ynez Valley. Situated at 1,000-foot elevation, this west facing, gently sloping vineyard is comprised of gravely, sandy loam soil from sedimentary oceanic rocks containing limestone and shale, ideal soil for growing our Chardonnay because of its permeable qualities. During the growing season, the fog sits right on top of our vineyards, creating desirable, cool foggy morning weather, with diurnal temperature swings of 50 degrees.
