The Chairman Series Lineage is a bold and distinguished red wine. On the nose, rich cassis with hints of fennel and black currant intermingle to create a mouthwatering aroma. On the palate, this wine is robust, with layers of blue and black fruit supported by well-structured tannin and notes of graphite. We recommend decanting for 30-60 minutes before serving to allow the deeply complex fruit characters to evolve. Lineage's great texture makes it a perfect pairing with rib eye, New York steak, filet mignon, short ribs, or venison…or a holiday feast.

The grapes for this wine come from the best vineyard lots on our estate in Santa Ynez Valley. Situated at 1,000-foot elevation on an alluvial shelf, this vineyard is comprised of extremely porous, gravely soil from sedimentary oceanic rocks containing limestone and shale, ideal for growing our Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for Lineage because of its permeable qualities. During the growing season, the fog sits right on top of our vineyards, creating desirable, cool foggy morning weather, with diurnal temperature swings of 50 degrees.
